Much of the story of Morocco is Jewish. The community numbered more than a quarter of a million before they left over half a century ago. Now, there are only about 3,500, mainly in Casablanca. They rose to the highest levels of government and dominated the jewelry, textile, leather and salt industries. The graves of dozens of rabbinic scholars have become pilgrimage sites for all religions.

Join Affinity Excursions on an adventure through Morocco, a feast of exotic sites, ancient markets that stretch for miles, palaces from the time of the Arabian Knights and exotic foods cooked in traditional tagine clay ovens. Along with your guide travel to dirt-tracked Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains, where Jews arrived after the destruction of the Second Temple. Stroll through ancient Jewish Quarters, now under restoration in Marrakesh and Fes, where Jews took refuge when they were expelled from Spain in the 15th Century. See ancient synagogues, including one built in 1492, by the newly arrived Spanish Jews. Stay in a luxurious, sumptuously tiled and collonaded riad palace built for nobility a century ago.

Along your travels, visit a 14th-century tannery that is still in operation, using many of the original dye vats, watch snake charmers coax cobras upright off the pavement by playing wooden flutes, see rugs being woven by hand, watch fishermen haul in their catch and then feast on the freshest of seafood. You will experience the sights, sounds and tastes of this magical country, the next big tourist destination.
